Peace, Dev’t Projects In Agusan Del Sur

MANILA BULLETIN | PATIN-AY, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur – Officials of this fast-growing landlocked province of Agusan del Sur in Northeastern Mindanao (Caraga region) started meeting with barangay officials and residents, especially those in far-flung areas for the proper implementation of the Php 20 million peace and development program.

The pre-construction meeting with the local officials in the barangay level is currently spearheaded by Gov. Adolph Edward “EddieBong” G. Plaza, in an objective to properly implement the different projects, especially the road construction onward to “development and progress”. 
The fund of these different projects came from Presideent Benigno S. Aquino lll through the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace Process (OPAPP) Secretary Teresita Deles, in line with his Payapa at Masaganang Pamayanan program of PAMANA.
Along with the OPAPP, the project will open roads and rehabilitation of other barangay roads in far-flung barangays, particularly in conflict areas.
Initially, the officials of the province conducted the pre-construction meeting in Sta. Teresita and Pinagalaan areas.
The officials also conducted pre-construction meeting with barangay officials in Osmena, Magkiangkang, Villa Undayon, New Salem, Mount Carmel and Bayugan City, for easy and convenient transport of their products.
Last month, a meeting was also held here with all stakeholders of the said projects to discuss program of works. A community mapping was also conducted, which was participated by the local residents of the two barangays to discuss problems and issues and formulate possible solutions.
“We already have the money in our hands of these PAMANA projects, because President Noy-Noy Aquino, with his PAMANA program, thru the office of the OPAPP Sec. Deles have already given us a total of Php 20 million for the rehabilitation and construction of roads in your area,” said Gov. Plaza.
“You have all the reasons to rejoice because of the support of Pres. Aquino in our province,” added the provincial Chief Executive.
Far-flung villages in the province has great potential in agricultural production, like animal raising, inland body of water fish, rice and other farm products. With the intervention of PAMANA program, it is expected that the people will improve their economic condition soonest, further added Gov. Plaza.
The provincial governor, however, called on barangay officials to closely supervise the road construction projects in an effort to thoroughly implement the good quality materials and good quality works.
Meanwhile, Provincial Engineer Pamela Yucosing also called on barangay officials to secure the materials and equipment because every bit of the projects is for the benefit of the barangays. #
